Exploring English Descriptive Writing Vocabulary Acquisition through Creative Pedagogical Strategies

Review on previous English as a second language (ESL) interventional programmes in Malaysia has indicated limited emphasis creative pedagogy. Particularly writing classes that include descriptive writing, genre requires writers to be and expressive, significant portion of learners were found suffer from poor proficiency. Therefore, the present study aimed explore impact pedagogical strategies ESL learners’ writing. Under classroom research, it adopted action research design with single case monitor upper secondary school an sentence construction vocabulary. The data collection involved focus group interviews, written tests, evaluation students’ work. It was revealed effective improving performance. main findings derived included five themes following: ability describe pictures using complex vocabulary, learning new words, acquisition various adjectives verbs, show emotion or feelings, skill for delivering meaning precision. We propose chain parallel action-related plans further investigate teaching approaches encourage similar by teachers country.
